You all know about the greek myths. Arachne, Hercules, Iccarus. Those myths. And of course, the gods of those myths. You know, Zeus, Athena, Posiedon, and Aphrodite. That’s just a few. But do you know the myth about the young goddess Tavity? It’s a great story...
Once, there was a goddess named Tavity. She was the daughter of Aphrodite and Ares. Who, as everybody knows, are dating. She was unmistakenly beautiful with just a slight anger issue.
Before Tavity was born, which was some two-thousand years ago (give or take a couple hundred years), the greek mortals would always throw things up in the air, but the stuff never came back down. It would just head towards Mount Olympus, home of the gods. Never returning back to Earth.
In the city of Athens, there was a mortal kid named Richard. One day, Richard decided to go outside to throw his bouncy ball. He was young and knew very little about throwing. When he bounced his ball on the ground he ran to go catch it when it came down, but it never did. It just soared in the air towards Mount Olympus.
On Mount OlympusTavity was cleaning her room. The foolish mortals were always throwing stuff in her room making it fairly unkept. Not that it bothered her. She loved having all types of neat stuff that the other gods did not. Her room was just too messy and Aphrodite kept on telling her to clean it up. Mainly because it made her look bad having a messy daughter.
Anyways, while was picking up her many collections, Tavity was hit in the head by a rubber bouncy ball. This made her extremely furious. How dare they throw something at her! So, she threw a fit. She hurtled that bouncy ball back at Earth and hit Richard square on the top of his head. He was knocked out cold, but she couldn’t’ve cared less. She was too busy throwing all of her most prized posessions off of Mount Olympus.
She could have gone on like that for the rest of the day and all of that night. But, her parents came storming in the room to see what all the fuss was about. Her father yelled at her a couple of times, but that wasn’t going to stop her. What stopped her was her mother. Aphrodite calmy walked over to Tavity and told her that if she kept going on like that, her hair would most deffintely be ruined. She stopped. immeadietly
She started to say something, but she heard a faint sound coming from out her window. They all walked over to the window to see the noise. It was the mortals of Greece! They were cheering for the great Tavity, goddess of chucking things at people.
Over time, people forgot about the young goddess. She remained to be just another forgotten myth. To all except for one. A grandfather, named Jason. He was telling his grandchild Aristotle about the time his greatgreatgrandfather Richard was knocked out by a greek goddess named Tavity. This kid forgot most of the story, but he didn’t forget about the Great Tavity. He grew up and became the greatest thinker of his day. One day, he found out the scientific reason why things fall back to Earth and decided to name it after the Great Tavity. But now, she’s only known as Gravity.
