Naomi Posinova

In school we are doing reports on the Holocaust. (A result of the Diary of Anne Frank). You know, when the Nazi's came to power. Anyways, I had to chose a picture of a kid who was affected during the Holocaust. They are our new paperclip child. I chose this little girl.
Her name is Naomi Posinova. Isn't she cute? Her birthday is four days before mine. Her story is teeny bit happier than most of the other Holocaust stories though.
When she was about ten years old she was tooken from her home in Prague, Czechoslovakia. She was deported to the Thereseinstadt, a ghetto in Czechoslovakia. All kids ten and over were supposed to work, but she just kept on with her education. (Something I don't think I would have done.)
The conditions were horrible. There was no nutrition and one or two bathrooms, but only the Nazi's could use them. Typhus carrying rats infested all of the camps. And the worst af all were the daily "selections". If you were chosen you were suddenly deported to the death camps in Auschwitz and Treblinka. Sorta like the movie Island.
And now comes the usual sad part. One horrible horrible day, Naomi and her family were "selected". She was only twelve years old when she and her mother were slaughtered in the gas chambers. She was one of the 1.5 million kids murdered during the Holocaust.
(Website I got this info. from: graceproducts.com/fmnc/pnaomi.htm )
Isn't that horrible?! I can't even imagine a million anything! Just one of the many things that we humans regret I guess.

i recently went to out of the closet to donate stuff and one hour later i came back to see peoples donations including mine in the trash. i was livid! one of the items in the trash was anne frank's beyond the diary book. that really broke my heart. didn't they suffer enough and now it's in the trash? i started reading it and i thought about it for weeks and cried. then i got out my picture of this little girl that was handed out to our entire neighborhood through mail and it was naomi posinova. so i looked her up and this is the site i came on. it's good to know there are others with a very big sensitive heart. i believe everyone should read about the holocaust at least once a year so that we will never forget what has happened and that we pray it will never happen again- ever! it was the 1990's that i received this picture of naomi and i have her on my wall. if i could i would collect every photo of each child that was murdered and have them on my wall as a rememberance.
all of them are in my hearts everyday.
